    ‘Residential Curbside Cleanup’ November 3-7 in New Smyrna Beach New Smyrna Beach residents may get a little help cleaning up during Residential Curbside Clean-up Week November 3-7 “This is an opportunity for residents to pick up and clean up, and we’ll take away the trash,” said Faith Miller New Smyrna Beach Maintenance Operations Manager. “In the process, we’ll be promotingcommunity pride and a clean environment.” Acceptable items must be placed neatly at the property’s curb before 7 a.m. but not more than two days in advance. Items also must be separated by type – household garbage and constructiondebris. Examples of acceptable items include appliances, cabinets, car rims, car tires, couches, fencing, furniture, mattresses, rugs, sinks, etc. Small loose items must be in garbage containers and maynot weigh more than 50 pounds, Miller said. By participating, residents may save themselves a trip to the landfill and the fees associated with disposing of these types of items,” Miller said. “If they place it neatly at the curb, we’ll pick it up at noadditional charge. It’s also good timing to clean up before the holidays. Doors on cabinets and appliances must be removed before curb placement. Household hazardous waste will not be picked up curbside but will be accepted from 9 a.m. - 3 p.m., Saturday, November 8, at the New Smyrna Beach Maintenance Operations Works Department,124 Industrial Park Avenue.  Household garbage, recycling, and yard waste will be collected as regularly scheduled. Residential Curbside Clean-up Week is sponsored by the City of New Smyrna Beach and its solid waste contractor, Waste Pro.
